Borrowing is free, but you must have a library card in your possession to check out materials.

You must use your own library card or that of an immediate family member.

To obtain a library card, please register at the circulation desk during normal library hours. Personal identification is required.

To receive a library card, a child must be at least 5 years of age or in kindergarten, as well as accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Internet access

At the circulation desk, you may register for public access to the internet and review the written rules and guidelines.

Circulation periods

Items circulate for 28 days with these exceptions:

Bestsellers: 14 days

Audiobooks: 14 days (Unabridged audiobooks: 28 days)

Videotapes: 14 days (Six at a time per borrowing family)

DVDs: 7 days (Two at a time per borrowing family)

Selected encyclopedias in the Children's Room: 14 days.

Lost items

Lost library cards
Replacement cost is $1.00.

Once the new card has been issued, the old one will not be recognized by the computer system.

A parent or legal guardian must sign on-site for a child's replacement card.

Lost or damaged materials
You are responsible for borrowed materials and are expected to pay for lost or damaged items. If a book is damaged and can be rebound, the charge will be based on rebinding costs.

Parent or guardian holds responsibility for the library card of a child until age 18. This includes all borrowed materials and fines.

If you lose an item and pay for it, the price will be refunded if the item is returned in good condition within three months of payment.
