SERVICES AND POLICIES
Library cards
Borrowing is free, but you must have a library card in your possession to check
out materials.
You must use your own library card or that of
an immediate family member.
To obtain a library card, please register at the circulation desk
during normal library hours. Personal identification is required.
To receive a library card, a child must be at least 5 years of age or in kindergarten, as well
as accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Internet access
At the circulation desk, you may register for public access to the
internet and review the written rules and
guidelines.

Circulation periods
Items circulate for 28 days
with these exceptions:
Bestsellers: 14 days
Audiobooks: 14 days (Unabridged audiobooks: 28 days)
Videotapes: 14 days (Six at a time per borrowing family)
DVDs: 7 days (Two at a time per borrowing family)
Selected encyclopedias in the Children's Room: 14 days.
Reference titles (R or JR) do not circulate.

Renewals
Patrons may renew materials for one additional circulation
period providing the materials are not overdue and have no existing
holds.
Lost items
Lost library cards
Replacement cost is
$1.00.
Once the new card has been issued, the old one will not be
recognized by the computer system.
A parent or legal guardian must sign on-site
for a child's replacement card.
Lost or damaged materials
You are responsible for borrowed
materials and are expected to pay for lost or damaged items. If
a book is damaged and can be rebound, the charge
will be based on rebinding costs.
Parent or guardian holds responsibility for
the library card of a child until age 18. This includes all borrowed materials
and fines.
If you lose an item and pay for it, the price will be refunded if the
item is returned
in good condition within three months of payment.
Fines
Books, audio books and videos: 20¢ per day
Maximum fine, adult collection: $10 per item
Maximum fine, children's collection: $5 per item
Holds and interlibrary loans
Holds and Interlibrary loans can be requested through both
circulation
desks and through the
Blair County Multi-Library catalog.
Brochures are available at all Blair County public libraries.
Book drop
The book drop is provided for your convenience
to allow you to return items when the Library is closed.
The book drop is locked when the Library is open.
